It's almost winter in Adelaide. The trees are nearly bare and there's a chill in the air. That means it's time for a pop-up outdoor skating rink! This winter, for the first time in Adelaide, The Winter Village will transform the Torrens Parade Ground in the city into a snowy winter wonderland.
The Winter Village is an alpine-inspired event for the whole family to enjoy. There's ice skating, snow showers, a bar and kitchen and an igloo village. 45-minute ice-skating sessions are $25.50 per adult (cheaper for kids) and include skate and helmet hire. Extra safety gear is available for hire.
To complete the wintery look, snow showers will fall over the event every three hours from midday to 9 pm. You can book a clear igloo, festooned with fairy lights and decked out with cosy armchairs and cushions for 2-8 people. Packages including a grazing plate and a sparkling, wine or beer start at $49 per person with a premium option available for $69. Kids are $15 each. Each igloo session is one and three-quarter hours long.
The pop-up kitchen and bar will be serving delicious eats including mac and cheese, fried chicken and much much more including a kids menu. The Sip Bar will be serving delicious hot chocolate, hot toddies and decadent espresso martinis along with a range of beers and wines and more.
