Winter Truffle Laneway (Cancelled)


Winter nights don't have to be spent indoors under a blanket. Sydney has many exciting events to warm you up and fill your belly.

On Thursday 8 July, the Winter Truffle Laneway event will be held at the Bulletin Laneway outside the Sydney Harbour Marriot Hotel. A truffle is closely related to mushrooms, a quirky type of fungus that loves the cold and dark. They are difficult to grow and rather mysterious. The fungus needs specific conditions and tree root location to form a symbiotic relationship which creates a perfect aromatic truffle. Only certain truffles are considered perfect for eating, which makes the taste so unique and often expensive.

The Winter Truffle Laneway pop-up is the perfect opportunity to indulge in all things Truffle. For two nights, there will be a live cooking station serving hot gourmet truffled delicacies. A cooking class will feature Michelin Star-trained Chef Raphael Szurek creating mouthwatering delights from The Truffle Farm. Food packages will be available and a bar serving special wines, hot truffle cocktails and truffle-infused drinks.

If you really enjoy truffles, there will be a gourmet truffle product stall offering an array of truffles sold by the gram along with a selection of premium truffle salts, oils and pastes.

Entry is free. Food packages will be available and more details on the Truffle Masterclass and Truffle Hunt will be announced soon on the Facebook event page.
