The Winter Grand Prix is known as the festival of all cycling festivals and it's being held in Western Australia at the Speed Dome on the 29th June 2014.



The Winter Grand Prix is genuinely an exhibition of cycling at its best. This day attracts two disciplines of cycling as well as businesses that show case their products to all that visit the SpeedDome on this day.

The day starts with over 1000 road cyclists riding a variety of distances from 34 km to 84 km as part of the Cyclo Sportif events held by Bicycling Western Australia (BWA). Any person who enjoys cycling can partake in this event, and will be rewarded with a nourishing lunch together with track side seating to watch the fastest compete on the velodrome.

Surrounding the perimeter of the track are businesses that display everything from services to merchandise. I know I have purchased a few bargains here and there at events like this!

Of course the center of attraction will be the track cyclists who travel from around the world to compete in this event. You will witness speed at its best and will be entertained with cyclists battling it out in a variety of events that will include the historical Westral Wheelrace that will be run over 1500m (6 laps) of the Siberian pine surface of the SpeedDome .



Tickets to watch this event can be purchased through Ticketmaster . All spectators will have the opportunity to go into the draw to win some amazing prizes and will have access to purchase drinks and food at the venue.

However, if you want to feel what it would be like to be treated like a cycling star, you can purchase limited VIP seating right in the heart of the velodrome. Here you can enjoy a buffet meal together while watching track cyclists compete from inside the track. There is limited seating left for this experience and tickets are $55.00 per person.

With winter now at our doorstep, this is one weekend you would want to block out in your calendar. There is ample parking which is $5.00 per car, plus as it is an indoor velodrome you don't have to worry about the weather.
