Last year I experienced my first Winter Solstice with my family and two nephews, who absolutely loved it. The excitement grew as the sky got darker. There was plenty to keep them occupied with roving entertainers, and yummy food trucks.
This exciting and popular event is in its sixth year. With a change of location (last year it was in an Eltham paddock), this year it's at Edendale farm, with all the thrills and excitement that the Winter Solstice brings.
Gates open at 3pm, so don't forget to bring a rug, warm clothes and some gum boots as the lantern parade will wind around the event site. You can buy a lantern there or if kids are creative make your own to bring along. The night concludes at around 9pm.
So don't miss out on a fabulous evening of entertainment, spectacle and family fun. Eltham is a creative hub, thirty-five minutes from central Melbourne, at the entrance of the Yarra Valley.
