It's a great evening for the whole family with something for everyone. Get there when the gates open and find a spot to set up your blanket and chairs. Bring along your picnic basket or food vans and stalls will be on site from 3pm. There will be plenty of delicious food and drinks (including mulled wine to keep you warm), with vegetarian options available.
With roving entertainers, pony rides, a lantern stall and live music keeping the crowds laughing and dancing, it's all great fun.
At 5.20pm, it's time for the lantern parade to gather and the lanterns are lit turning the festival into a glittering spectacle. Look out for the fire entertainers as they make their way around, thrilling everyone with their displays. Then at 5.30pm, the lantern parade will begin to wind its way around the event site.
Don't miss the lighting of the enormous, sculptural bonfire as it crackles into the night. Full program details are available here. Please note that come rain, hail or shine this event will proceed, but in the case of high winds, the bonfire may not be lit.
There will be no onsite parking at the farm, but plenty of street parking in Eltham itself. Or why not catch the train? Eltham Station is on the Hurstbridge line and Edendale Farm is a 15-minute walk from the station.
Eltham is approximately 20 km north-east of Melbourne's CBD, at the entrance of the beautiful Yarra Valley.
