An evening of elegant indulgence at a Winter Soiree

It's not often that we as Sunshine Coasters get the opportunity to dress up in our glad rags and elegant finery, to enjoy an evening of sophistication, in a graceful and distinguished venue.

Well, Aimee Provence High Tea Parlour is putting their best flute forward and inviting guests to 'taste the stars' at their annual Winter Soiree*, from what could conceivably be the best panoramic position in Buderim.

Join Aimee Provence on the evening of Saturday 4 August to enjoy the pink and blue hues of an icy clear winter sunset, providing a spectacular backdrop to your Winter Soiree experience. On arrival, guests will be greeted with a flute of exquisite champagne, followed by a skilled lesson in the art of sabrage with accomplished expert, Rebecca Grisman.

Pink and blue hues of a winter dusk

Sabrage dates back to the post-battle celebrations of Napoleon and his French cavaliers in the late 1700's and with its swashbuckling origins, sounds particularly dangerous and possibly messy in a modern-day demonstration. We are, after all, talking about taking the head off a bottle of champagne with a very lethal weapon Â… a sabre. As Australians, we have all been privy to popping a cork from a bottle of bubbles, but did you know that French champagne generally contains more built-up pressure than local bubbles, which could add an element of danger to the art of sabrage. I suspect that this is part of the ancient charm of sabrageÂ….a glint of steel and the romanticism of champagne.

An interlude of live music by local artist, Hannah Olivia will add to the allure and ambience of your very elegant evening in Buderim. Hannah is a young, confident singer and songwriter, who loves nothing more than taking her audience with herÂ…to embark on a small piece of her journey, every time she performs.

Guests will enjoy stylish and discerning grazing tables which will include an array of delectable seasonal produce including antipasto, continental delicacies, speciality cheeses, gourmet dips, locally sourced nuts, scrumptious chocolate truffles and sweets.
