The Winter Sessions Music Festival returns and will be spread across two weeks in July and August (27-30 Jul and 3-6 Aug) of 2023, held across iconic Brisbane venues and of course an amazing lineup of over 35 international and local artists. Hooray for Brisbane City Council who sponsor this event that's cooler than winter, yet warms your soul because the Festival supports talented local musicians and gets music lovers a reason to visit the city's exciting entertainment precincts. There's a mix of free and ticketed events that'll take you to some of Brisbane's cherished inner-city venues across The Valley, Newstead, and Woolloongabba. Whether you opt for a family outing, a music lovers jam session or a date night, this is one of many events the Council delivers that are fun and affordable for the community.

Venues including Black Bear Lodge, Hey Chica!, Finn McCool’s, The Prince Consort, Cloudland, The Triffid and The Princess Theatre will host a myriad of talent including ARIA winner Tyrone Noonan, Ngaiire and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Danny Widdicombe, Cigany Weaver, Life on Earth and Brisbane’s disco dance darlings Dizzy Days. Whether you’re into pop, folk, roots, disco, rock, neo-soul, electro, orchestral music or checking out performances from the finest drag icons, there will be something for all tastes. Anyone ready to play a bit of Set Roulette ? It's a live music game of chance where everyone’s a winner! Kicking off at 2pm on Sat 5 Aug at The Princess Theatre, 8 Annerley Rd, Woolloongabba with a lineup consisting of this country’s finest artists and an evening where no one is tethered to a set time, Set Roulette is a true live music adventure. Each set is determined by chance, a gamble, fate, but more specifically a giant spinning wheel onstage that decides who plays in what order. Your artist lineup for the roulette include Kwame, Hatchie, RVG, Big Wett, andy Golledge, Party Dozen, Safety Club and Jesswar.

Get ready to be blown away at The Triffid, 7/9 Stratton St, Newstead for the Roots Weekender . As you can see from the poster below, it's full-on! It's a celebration of Roots, Blues & Soul Music over two electrifying days! Save the dates - Sat 29 Jul and Sun 30 Jul, starting at 2pm as a free, yes, free Festival is unleashed! Prepare to groove as the legendary Salmonella Dub Soundsystem returns to Australia on day one of the Festival, igniting the dance floor with their pulsating beats. Not to mention an explosive finale on day two, with Brisbane's very own powerhouse party band Fat Picnic, headlining. Just follow all links given for more information.


If you love that big orchestra sound, Sydney-Based songstress Ngaiire is joining forces with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra for one incredible night at The Princess Theatre in Brisbane. It's going to be an indulgent night of soul, gospel and big pop sounds throughout this unmissable event. Be sure to get in early for your Tickets .

Something special to look forward to, ARIA award-winning artist Tyrone Noonan will be performing at The Black Bear Lodge 6 August, and you'll definitely want to get in early for Tickets to this one. Supporting Act The Long John duo will come together to play spooky country with that old time swing, peppered with the spiciest of flavours to deliver songs of hope, loss and hauntings.
