Shorebirds are special. They are the most threatened group of birds in the world. While eleven species live at the Maroochy River all year round, others travel across the world to rest and feed on the Sunshine Coast.

Cheryl Nonmus from Paintbox Art School will teach children different mixed-media techniques to create their own species specific portraits of local and migratory shorebirds. From colour blending and brush stroke styles to drawing techniques, young artists will learn how to depict feathers, water ripples and create beautiful shorebird portraits.
