Winter doesn't have to spent indoors listening to the chilly howl of the wind when you have music all around
Melbourne. There are lunchtime
recitals in
Docklands, live music performances at
Light the Winter in
Federation Square and Indigenous songs during
NAIDOC Week. The City of Moonee Valley is also hosting their own concert series in June and July. Best of all, entry is FREE to everyone. So grab the family and enjoy a schedule of diverse music across four Sundays across Moonee Valley.
5 June - Winter Wonderland

The Moonee Valley Brass, Moonee Valley Community Choir, Moonee Valley Development Band and What's Goin' On will be teaming up for this community concert. All the organisations provide students and members of the local community a platform to enjoy music and perform to audiences at events around
Australia and even internationally. In particular, What's Goin' On will explore sounds through improvisation and groove.

19 June - Strauss and Strauss

Fans of the opera can rejoice. Instead of
Hamer Hall, head over to St George's Anglican Church for songs and opera arias direct from old Vienna. The recital including the music of Richard Strauss & Johann Strauss Jnr will be performed by celebrated Soprano Teresa la Rocca and pianist Simon Bruckard. Teresa has performed with Opera Australia, State Opera of South Australia,
Hong Kong Philharmonic and Sydney Philarmonia.

26 June - Italian Serenade

Returning from their European tour in London and Berlin, Affinity Collective will bring you the sounds of new and well loved music. This String Quartet is a winner of the 2015 Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) Chamber Music Competition and performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra Collective, the
Sydney Chamber Opera and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

4 July - On Wings of Song
Spend an afternoon with the instrumental music of Lyric Opera of Melbourne, directed by Pat Miller and accompanied by the beautiful vocals of Soprano Jacqueline Porter. Jacqueline was the recipient of the 2010 Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust Scholarship and has performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
