In July 2018,
Winter in the Park will return to Kibble Park in Gosford on the Central Coast. The festival coincides with the New South Wales public school holidays, and is expected to attract around 5,000 people over 8 days.
There will be a wide variety of winter fun, including an ice skating rink, food stalls, snow play, kids activities, performances, and face painting.
Entry to the festival is free and there will be a range of free activities (including snow play), plus there'll be the option to purchase food and tickets for activities such as ice skating.
Here are some of the highlights of this year's festival:
Ice Skating
The popular ice skating rink will be back from Wednesday the 11th of July to Wednesday the 18th of July. During this period, the rink will be open daily, with the first session starting at 10am and the last session starting at 7pm.
Sessions run for 45 minutes, and tickets can be
purchased online at the following prices:
Child (13 years and under) $12
Adult (14 years and above) $15
Family $35
Penguin skate aids are also available for hire for $5 each.
The Fun Engine
The Fun Engine Fire Education Truck will be on site each day throughout the festival. Volunteers will be discussing fire safety and there'll be a chance to children to sit in the fire truck.
Snow Play
Free snow play sessions will run daily from 9am-9:30am. This is a great chance for the kids to enjoy the snow, build a snowman, throw a few snowballs and make snow angels without making a trip to the mountains.
Mad Hatter's Tea Party
The Mad Hatter's Tea Party will take place on Saturday the 14th of July from 10am-2pm. There will be food and rides, plus free games and activities so put on your hat and join the fun.
Smurfette's Journey
Smurfette's Journey is a 30-minute stage performance featuring popular children's characters, The Smurfs.
The family-friendly show will take place at 10am, 11:15am and 12:30pm on the following days:

Wednesday the 18th of July 2018
Thursday the 19th of July 2018
Whacky Winter Wonderland Show by DJ Jazzy
On the first two days of the Festival (July 11th and 12th), DJ Jazzy will be performing live in a high-energy show alongside local dancers. The shows run for 45 minutes and will start at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm.
DJ Jazzy is a popular artist, well-known for her fun and energetic family-friendly music, and has been featured on Toasted TV, Kids WB and Saturday Disney, as well as performing in sell-out shows across Australia.
Star Chalet
The Star Chalet will be open from 10am-1pm on the following days:
Wednesday the 11th of July
Friday the 13th of July
Saturday the 14th of July
Enjoy face painting, craft activities, music, lounges, marquees, and more.
