One of South Australia's finest Gin distilleries - Applewood Distillery - is ready to crank up the heat this winter with their newest Gin: Winter Gin.
Following the unwavering success of last year's Pear Gin that was a best-seller, Inglewood Inn and Applewood Distillery have collaborated this year to bring the ultimate winter warmer to Gin lovers.
Hailing from the picturesque and rich Adelaide Hills, Winter Gin is best enjoyed with a roaring fireplace close by, as you hear a river flowing against the backdrop of a misty fog on a particularly frosty night in the Adelaide Hills . Good times, lots of laughter, and an abundance of warmth are guaranteed with a drink made of Winter Gin in your hand.
Kicking off the festivities on World Gin Day (June 8, 2019), the launch of Winter Gin brought the aromas of eucalypt, moss and lichen, which were complemented the flavours of warm spices, mandarin, hints of pepper berry and vanilla - all of which are bound to warm the cockles during the upcoming chilly nights in our neck of the woods. Pair a shot of Winter Gin with tonic water, enjoy it neat, or serve it hot - no matter what way you choose to enjoy it, it will be a pleaser that will satisfy more than your belly.
My absolute favourite (that sadly sold out within a couple of hours of me being there) was the Fire Side - mulled Winter Gin that was laced with apple, honey, cinnamon, and orange. Looks like mulled wine, tastes oh so divine!
There were only 500 bottles of Winter Gin produced and less than 50 are now available, so if your bar space is looking a bit lonely and needs just one bottle to complete your winter stock, let it be the Winter Gin by Applewood Distillery.
