Join in the fun with this authentic Christmas German Event
Experience the magic of a genuine traditional German Christmas Market! This will happen on Friday, 17th August from 5.00 pm - 9.00 pm and Saturday 18th August from 4.00 pm - 9.00 pm. It will be held at 33 Myoora Road, Terrey Hills.
A German Christmas is a wonderful affair and at this market, you will be able to join in these special celebrations. Having been to Germany just before Christmas time, their markets are quite unbelievable! With so many decorations, twinkling lights all around, wine, and so much more, this event should be a stunning one!
There will be lantern walks, marshmallow roasting, a magical Winter Wonderland, puppet theatre and a whole lot of market and food stalls, including a Glühwein Hut.
Funds from last year's event were used to install a large new sun shade over their sports field. The use of knitted shade-cloth fabrics allows for airflow. The fabric is also water resistant so that if it is raining and showers are light to moderate, this area can still be used.
The popular event which is the highlight of the German Week in Sydney caters to all ages. The markets are beautifully adorned open-air market stalls offering traditional German food and drink. They will also have handmade ornaments, festive decorations, candles, a dedicated children's area, wooden art and crafts.
A fun night for all!
For the young people, the actual school soccer field will become this festive winter wonderland. Here, the children can enjoy Christmas songs in both English and German.
There will be twinkling stars on the tops of the roof. Visitors will be entertained by a magician and balloon shows, as well as a puppet theatre and many others games and rides.
Come early at 5.00 pm and beat the crowds. Make sure you mark this event in your calendar as it promises to be an exciting, slightly different event for the whole family.
If you have not tried German food, this is a must as it is delicious! If you have tried it, you will more than likely want more. Some of the food include items such as German sausages, waffles, sweets, soup, vegan food and hot drinks.
