This is a winter Blues Festival with heaps of performers
The annual Echuca-Moama Winter Blues Festival will again take place this July. This festival is established as the place to be for fantastic blues and roots music. It is also the perfect relief for a case of the Melbourne winter blues.

The Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival has become a feature event on the Australian Blues calendar. On the last weekend in July, the top Australian Blues artists perform at Echuca Moama for a spectacular weekend of music and entertainment in the clubs, hotels, restaurants and streets.

This will be the 19th annual Echuca-Moama Winter Blues Festival, held from 26th July until 29th July, 2018. There will be a massive 50 plus blues and roots performers from all over the country and they will perform to crowds expected to be around 20,000.

The fact that the vast majority of the blues and roots music is free is still a major draw-card for this festival.

Echuca Moama is situated on the Murray River, two and a half hours north of Melbourne and you can choose from heaps of different accommodations to suit your style. The Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival is the perfect event for any music lover of any age, and families are well catered for with children's activities.

Port Echuca is a historic port with a heritage precinct and these plus surrounding areas will resound with some music that will be well worth going to hear! You can walk from venue to venue to see your favourite artists. Come and join in the fun, but book your accommodation early as this weekend is always a sellout!

Some of the 2018 bands who will be performing at this Festival include the following:

* Benny James & The Blue Flames

* Steve Boyd's Rum Reverie
This band won The Age Music Awards 2016 and were nominated Best Blues Album - Healers and Howlers. They are an original Blues/Soul band who are influenced by Tom Waits, Curtis Mayfield, and Andre Williams.

* Kings & Associates
This group were the recipients of 3 prestigious "Chain Awards" for Best Group of the year; Best New Talent; and a 3rd award on behalf of Jim Scott for Best Producer for their album Tales Of A Rich Girl at the Australian Blues Music Awards.

* Andrew Farrell - Piano Wizard
When he takes his seat at the piano, it becomes obvious that the nickname means something else as well. His music is a magic he performs with the keys. Andrew gives one of the finest performances in diverse styles of music.

* Bonnie Kay and the Bonafides
Bonnie Kay is a contemporary American singer/songwriter from Philadelphia who landed in Australia via Tokyo. She uses acoustic, finger-picking, slide-guitar techniques. Her voice is similar to blues icon, Bonnie Raitt.

* Electric Blues Collective
Electric Blues Collective play a mixture of Chicago blues with vibe and drive. They tend to reinterpret rather than re-hash and create "high vibe dancing blues music with passion".

* Kelly's Blues
Kelly Blues play an inspirational set of original songs and covers from the 1920's up until the current date. They record and tour at many festivals, delighting audiences and receiving standing ovations. Recently they competed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and got into the semi-finals.

* Nick Charles
Nick has had an acclaimed career and has released more than a dozen albums on major Australian and US roots music labels. He averages about 150 shows per year in Australia, New Zealand and the USA. His music is an eclectic mix of acoustic roots including blues, folk and early ragtime jazz.
