The Adelaide Showgrounds, conscious of the weather, have brought together 15 of the best exhibitions and events to tempt and tease you out of your home this winter.

For three whole days, roller derby teams will converge on Adelaide from every corner of Australia and New Zealand to do battle with skate and booty. Some will come intent on glory, others to test their mettle, but all will come to revel in the biggest celebration of hard hitting knocks and derby love this nation has ever seen.

Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival (8-10 July)
Over 3 days and 4 seasons, the Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival is SA's biggest beer, cider & BBQ party. Showcasing the best of South Australian, Australian and international beer & cider with over 50 exhibitors, along with some of SA's best restaurants and chefs cooking up a storm on the BBQ.
The Adelaide Roller Derby season continues at the Showgrounds this winter with two series rounds and a grand final in August. Not sure what this sport is all about? Then why not head down to Wayville and cheer on the teams in Adelaide's oldest and largest roller derby league.
This event showcases the leading suppliers in renovation, building and decorating products. You can see and buy everything you need to renovate, build or decorate all at one location, plus there are lots of great ideas, info sessions, DIY demos and expert advice.
The 2016 Sewing Show will be an exciting interactive event for people who love to sew, quilt, scrapbook and make their own crafts. Plus there are lots of great ideas, info sessions, DIY demos and expert advice all for a low $10 entry fee.
Science Alive! (5-7 August)
The annual Science Alive! show is back with new science shows and hands-on attractions to complement the traditional favourites of native animals, Stardomes, LED torch-making, robots, electronics, the Curiosity Show, slime, smoke rings, Daleks and over 50 science organizations offering interactive and fun activities.
The SACE Research Project Student Expo is designed to inspire and inform students who are about to commence their Research Project. The event will feature past students exhibiting and discussing their projects, as well as a range of organisations and guest presenters.
MFS Fireman's Calendar Launch (12 August)
Every two years the Showgrounds comes alive with a Hot August Night when the local firemen release their special calendar, with all funds raised going to a great cause. Need I say anymore!
The Finders Keepers markets features over 200 independent art and design stalls. Buyers can expect to buy incredible pieces by local makers from Adelaide, as well as treasured favourites from designers based all around Australia.

Why not get there are little earlier, and pay a visit to Pratty's Showground Warehouse Market in the Dairy Hall at the Showgrounds every Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 3pm, or perhaps visit the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market from 9am to 1pm on Sundays.
