The Lions Club of Winston Hills say that they are ordinary people, supporting others less fortunate, fundraising for worthwhile causes whilst having fun. This is exactly what they have done by providing labour and financial assistance for a lovely local park in Winston Hills.
This reasonably sized park includes 2 separate playgrounds, bike tracks, exercise equipment, BBQs, picnic shelters and loads of green space to hit, kick or throw a ball. The playgrounds aren't protected by sail cloths but there are quite a few trees where you can seek shade from.
The first playground contains a mini castle with slide, flying fox and swings. The second playground located approximately 100 metres away has spring rockers, climbing apparatuses and another small slide. There is also a large mound between the two playgrounds that kids will have fun running or cycling up and down on.
A decent bike path goes around each playground and then over a small creek via a little bridge and on to the other side of the park where the exercise equipment is. This equipment is for strength training - have a competition to see who can do the most chin ups.
There are picnic shelters and BBQs on both sides of the creek plus loads of lovely shaded spots to throw down a rug and enjoy a picnic. In regards to other facilities within the park, there aren't any toilets, there is lots of free street parking available and rubbish bins are provided.
If you are in need of some sustenance, a hop, skip and jump up the road you will find a local set of shops. The excellent Bagel Bakery Cafe (Mon-Sat) is a great place to grab a coffee and a decadent bakery treat. There is also a fish and chip shop as well as a BBQ chook shop where you can grab some picnic supplies from 7 days a week.
