Enjoy the feel good moment of being part of a global running event, when tens of thousands run on 5 May 2019, all at the same time, to find a cure for spinal cord injury. Wings for Life World Run Melbourne is the only run where the finish line catches you! CLICK HERE to register now, and run for those who can't! 100% of your entry fee goes directly towards spinal cord research, so grab your mates, get the FAQs and register and even run as a team. If you can't make the run, you can still donate to help this global fundraising effort. Find out more about this event HERE.
The Catcher Car being the moving finish line, you get a head start and 30 minutes later it beings its pursuit, steadily increasing their speed, precisely synced across the globe. Once it passes you, your race is over. If you have a personal goal, here's a Goal Calculator that'll help you challenge yourself, and help you work out when the Catcher Car is likely to pass you. Just enter the distance or time you want to run and it calculates your pace. Put in your estimated pace and get your expected time and distance.
Keep checking back on the event page discussion section for more details about start line location, race bib pick up, etcetera, which will be available closer to date. It's also a good avenue to interact and have your questions answered. Why not download the APP and run wherever you want on your own, or join an organised app run and run together against the Virtual Catcher Car!
The Catcher Car enables everyone in the Wings for Life World Run to feel the exhilaration of finishing the race, because you don't run to a finish line; instead, the finish line chases you! When the Catcher Car passes you, your race is complete and it's time to celebrate your participation in the global movement. This year, to make the global run even more exciting, the pace of the moving finish line will increase more significantly, particularly in the critical later stages of the race, providing an even more riveting finish!
