North side spot for wings, pizzas, burgers and tex-mex
My dining partner was keen to try Wing Blaster as his favourite food at the moment is marinated chicken wings. The Clayfield restaurant specialises in wings, pizza, burgers and ribs. You can eat dine in or takeaway and bring your own.
Wing Blaster has a wall of flame which is a food challenge. You are given six very hot chicken wings to see if you can handle the heat, but there are no losers. If you eat them then you get a t-shirt, if you can't complete the challenge then you still receive a t-shirt, but it has a different message.
I ordered The Cure pizza which was packed with mozzarella, parmesan, prosciutto, feta, black olives and rocket. The ingredients were a little on the salty side (as to be expected) but I enjoyed the pizza nevertheless. Pizzas come in three options with small $15, large $20 and gluten free $17.
My dining partner heartily tucked in to his buffalo wings and got the spicy sauce all around his clock. The dish was crispy skinned traditional wings covered with Franks Red Hot Sauce regular, with a blue cheese dressing on the side. He thought they were very good and the heat was just right.
All dishes are cooked fresh to order so you might need to wait for them. The seats we sat at were in the full mid-day sun, so you may prefer to just get takeaway. The menu has an extensive range of different flavours of wings, gourmet and classic pizzas, burgers, nachos and hot dogs (with some dishes are American inspired).
The dessert menu is small but tempting with Nutella calzone, dessert chimis, churros and ice cream. There are two house specials if you a super hungry and a good range of cold drinks.
Wing Blaster is the place to go on the North side if you have a hankering for tasty chicken wings.
