The French word sommelier means "wine steward," which is a short way of summing up what these professionals do and its much more than just tasting wine and giving a thumbs up or down.

A sommelier's job is to know a lot about wine, just about everything about it, they can be hired by restaurants or hotels to put together a wine list to complement the cuisine they serve and also are expected to know what is currently trending with the wine drinking public.



The Winery at Surry Hills is putting on a night called "Wines to Get You Through Winter" which will be hosted by the Keystone Group Sommelier Sarah Limacher.

For $25pp you can enjoy some wine tasting and nibbles while mastering your wine knowledge with Sarah.
