The 2013 wine showcase is on again at Federation Square in Melbourne.



If you love to sample fine wines or consider yourself a wine buff come along and try some of Victoria's fine wines, all brought to you at Federation Square.

Every two months, the Federation Square Wine Showcase presents a different Victorian Wine region and gives you a chance to meet the winemakers of the respective region.



If you would like to know where your wine is from, this will be a chance for you to meet the winemakers and enjoy their latest offerings direct from the cellar door. You can even help judge the People's Choice contest for the best wines.

If you would like to educate yourself even more, they will also run a two night exposé on new wines from the various regions across Victoria and a masterclass is held every hour on half hour, beginning from 4:30 PM.

One of the really fun parts of this competition is that all of the official judging of the wine is done live, which allows you to compare your own personal notes with the judges and perhaps learn what you should be looking for when tasting and purchasing wine.

The public judging of the wine is held within The Edge (within the Atrium).

Following this, the winners are announced on Thursday evening.

The showcase winners will then compete together in the annual Federation Square wine awards, which will complete the season with the best of the best showcase and awards ceremony in August each year.

If you would like to come along and be part of this, you can also enjoy a local jazz band and tasting dishes from various restaurants nearby and in the vicinity.

2013 program:
The February event focuses on the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland Ranges.

3 - 4 April 2013
This month's event focuses on the Upper Goulburn, Strathbogie, King Valley, Alpine Valley, Beechworth, Rutherglen and Glenrowan areas.

5 - 6 June 2013
This month's event focuses on the Sunbury, Macedon Ranges, Bendigo, Heathcote, Goulburn Valley (including Nagambie Lakes), Swan Hill and Murray Darling areas.

7 - 8 August 2013
Brings us the Fed Square Wine Awards
