Think you're not artistic? Think again - you might just surprise yourself when artist Soma Datta guides you step-by-step to create a take-home painting at Koorliny Arts Centre.

The last Wine & Art night I went to with Soma was a blast. From the welcoming glass of wine to the actual painting part, the night was one I'll remember, and not just because I have proof of it!

Soma has a patient and warm manner that encourages everyone - from beginners and those dragged along by friends to those with a little more painting experience - to let go and enjoy. 'There are no mistakes,' she tells you, when you worry that something is not right. 'Mistakes are happy accidents.'



Expect to laugh while you create - it's hard not to. And at the end, when you all check out each others' interpretations, expect to be surprised by the diversity.

The first Wine & Art event at Koorliny Arts Centre is on January 31 from 6PM to 9PM. A further event has been scheduled for April 3.
