What a perfectly matched entity of words is "" which evokes humbling images of wine barrels and hay and sunsets over rolling vineyards.

This quaint little hole in the wall wine shop that offers the best in local wines and produce is new to the landscape in the main street of Daylesford.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the opening night and to hear the ever so down to earth humbling speech by owner Owen. Owners, Owen and his fiancé Jennifer, have a simple philosophy %%"promote local wine and food producers that are too small to promote themselves"
%%

They have also thrown in a number of favourite international wines that the two have discovered over the years of appreciating fine wine and for Owen, being born into a winery, wine is in his blood, so he knows what he is talking about.

The vibe of this place is inviting, fun, chilled and tasty. There is a record player keeping the sound waves groovy and jazzy, which adds yet another reason to love this place.

There is definitely an anything goes feel here as I chatted to Jennifer about the types of functions they hold. They will cater to their customer's needs and requirements and some suggestions were to hold a hen's night there and have food and wine pairing classes or pre wedding drinks.

They also encourage people to bring their own food along to gather on an evening eating, tasting wine and being merry.
The wine available for tasting changes daily and is a selection of 5 or 6 bottles of different grape varietals.

Apart from wine and a small selection of food which I dare say may become a larger selection as Jennifer and Owen settle in, they also have coffee on offer for those that feel guilty about having a tipple in the middle of the day. Buffalo Soldier coffee is a Daylesford based coffee company sourcing coffee from the African region. Along with making coffee, Jen has jumped on board the Suspend a coffee movement. This is an example of paying it forward, so if you grab a coffee, you can pay for two and then when someone in need comes in and wants a coffee there will be one already paid for. What a great concept.

Another service that is offered is a gift registry. Most couples these days already have everything when they get married, so why not build a fine wine cellar instead of receiving a blender from a department store that you will never even use!

There are lots of things to do in Daylesford but I would put dropping in to say G'day to Jen and Owen toward the top of the list.
