Taste the cheeses and drink the wine
Wine and cheese are a match made in heaven. I could eat cheese all day long but probably not drink wine all day long!

The Wine & Cheese Fest is for lovers of good cheese and wine. It will be held at Seaworks Maritime Precinct on 10th March 2019, from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm. The event is part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.

Seaworks is the greatest seaside warehouse in town and this festival will showcase Victoria's best wine, cheese and artisan producers. The area is a lovely one and has amazing backdrops of the bay and city views.

The festival will be offering free tastings of food and wine, cheese masterclasses, live jazz and DJs over two stages.

Some of the cheese vendors who will be there include:

BoatShed Cheese
The Cheese Rebels
L'Artisan Cheese Organic
Tolpuddle Goat Cheese
That's Amore Cheese
More still to be announced

There will be masterclasses and demonstrations by the following:

Giorgio Linguanti (That's Amore Cheese) - also known as the "Maestro of Mozzarella". He will give a live demonstration of mozzarella making. Often considered to be Australia's best maker of Italian cheese, you will be able to watch him making round balls of mozzarella and serve them warm.

Mount Avoca's winemaker, Matthew Barry will present a masterclass on their organic wines.

POPS Cocktails Topic to be advised.
Riot Wine CO Topic TBA.
Dal Zotto Wines Topic on Prosecco TBA.
Blue Pyrenees Topic on Sparkling and Cab Sav TBA.
Vino Mofo Topic by the CEO TBA.
More - TBA.

There will also be a VIP Masterclass which will be presented in the VIP zone and on the topic 100 years old wines. This masterclass is only available to VIP tickets holders and there will be limited places available.

There will be a presentation by the winemaker Matthew Barry from the 5 stars Mount Avoca organic winery. You will have the opportunity to taste the wines from Mount Avoca.

Children will also be amused as there will be a dedicated children's zone complete with interactive activities and games, plus wine and cheese themed face painting for the young foodies!

Then there is a fun event - the Grape Stomping Competition. There will be great prizes to be won in the 2019 Grape Stomping Competitors. The following are some of the prizes announced to date:

BoatShed Cheese: $50 worth of cheese
Mitchelton Winery: 6 bottles of wine
The Prosecco Van: 3 bottles of wine
POPS: 2 boxes of 30 POPS (mixed flavours) Each box is valued at $150

The objective of the Grape Stomp Competition is to produce as much grape juice as possible. If you are up for some great fun and want to make some wine the traditional old fashioned way, send your details through to this link to express your interest.

Children must be accompanied by a responsible guardian at all times.

All areas will be accessible by wheelchair.
