Sun 16 Oct 2016

I have such special memories and feelings of my state school fetes as we students prepared for the special day that was ours to show off our school, our activities, our school room and our special interests that we may have made or had been part in the making.

The Windsor State School is holding WindsorFest on Sunday 16th October 2016 and enthusiasm is already building to create this into a memorable event. Commencing from 10.00am and concluding at 4.00pm which will allow plenty of time for the little ones to get there early and get home for a nap in the afternoon; while the bigger kids can make the day their own. This event is a major fundraising initiative for the Windsor State School Parents & Citizens Association and we all know how important it is to have a P&C Committee at our schools.

Activities scheduled throughout the day include:

Little Kids rides will be operating from 10.00 to 4.00pm
Bigger Kids rides from 11.00am to 4.00pm
Plant Sale
Roving performance, band and stage performances
Face painting
Second hand clothes, books and toys for sale
A Jazz Bar After Party will begin at 4.00pm to 6.00pm as well as champagne, oysters and a cheese market and bar for the adults.

There will also be plenty of stalls and homemade goodies to entice your tastebuds such as Cakes, Jams, Strawberries and Cream, Devonshire Teas, Sweets, Coffee, Fairy Floss, Slushies, Food Trucks and BBQ, so there is no reason to go hungry. In fact, you will probably go home with a full tummy. If you require any further information with regard to stalls you can email the festival for answers.

The School is hoping to hold a Raffle and Auction and are currently looking for businesses to donate prizes. The School will flag promotional material from the business in the prizes and any businesses donating more than $500 will also receive an additional logo displayed on their website homepage. Individual sponsorship packages and prices ranging from $150 to $10,000 and the registration form can also be viewed on the website . Sponsorship is a great way to get your business, whether large or small, known to the general public. The principal sponsor for the school's 2016 festival is Ray White Lutwyche .

If you don't own a business, yet would still like to assist on the day, volunteers are always needed and welcomed. This is making up to be a great night out for family and singles alike; mark the date on your calendar so you do not miss out on a fun filled day and night.
