When The Hotel Windsor in Melbourne began serving traditional high tea in 1883, there would have been very few children partaking in the delicacies.
It's holiday season for the children, so make it count, and create a memory they will treasure forever. From Monday to Friday during the weeks of 30 March and 6 April, children under the age of 12 can enjoy Afternoon Tea at the hotel for the cost of their age; if your child is five years old, you only pay $5, if your child is eight, you pay $8.
This Easter the Windsor Hotel Pastry Chefs are excited to plate a uniquely crafted Easter-themed Afternoon Tea for children, celebrating the goodness of Easter.
Valid Mondays through Fridays between 30 March - 6 April 2015, only valid when at least one full paying adult dines. Each child will receive their very own specially created Afternoon Tea.
You can also embrace the Easter Holidays in Windsor style with their traditionally baked Hot Cross Buns, available from 111 Spring Street Restaurant; nicely wrapped box of half-dozen for $15.
The luxury hotel in Melbourne welcomes you with an elaborate foyer, lush with fresh flowers and alight with the melodies of a harpist strumming. Serving its renowned afternoon teas on silver three tiered stands, the freshly baked scones are served with jam and cream; exquisite pastries sit above delicate finger sandwiches. A glass of French sparkling is served on arrival, and an extensive selection of specialty teas and coffees are brought to your table throughout the afternoon.
Vegetarian and gluten free options can be catered for at no extra cost, (advise any dietary requirements at the time of booking). Myself and a guest enjoyed a fine assortment of gluten free options, at no extra cost, and at no loss of quality, texture, and crumb the way some gluten free alternatives are predisposed to.
The Hotel Windsor serves Afternoon Tea in the signature Melbourne hotel restaurant, 111 Spring Street, every day of the week.
