"This is a real Australian family in a real Australian setting, a gentle psychological thriller that no Australian should miss," said the Adelaide Theatre Guide.
Hotel Sorrento follows the story of Hilary, who lives in the family home in Sorrento with her father and 16-year-old son. Her sister, Pippa, is a successful businesswoman, visiting from New York and the two are joined by Meg, a successful writer who returns from England. The three sisters are reunited after a decade apart, but soon feel the stresses of family life together.
The story of Hotel Sorrento exposes familial tensions and the dramas that eventuate after the sisters' pasts are unearthed in Meg's autobiographical novel. The play is about family in a literal and metaphorical sense and the importance of blood ties and collective memory, true or false.
Hotel Sorrento begins at 8pm, is 120-minute duration (including interval) and there is the opportunity to stay for Post Show Q&A session with the cast after the performance.
