Following a glorious day in the country, I had begun my journey home and was driving along enjoying natures beauties when my groaning stomach deemed it was time for a stop off. Making a quick by-pass I entered the picturesque town of Daylesford, ravenous for something to appease the beast within before the long drive home.
Ever been to a festival and had a hotdog that make all your tastebuds stand at attention from one of those little European vendors? It is a truly enlightening experience and the only sad part is waiting hopefully for another event so you can re-live the experience. The food you crave from festivals is now available whenever you want it at Willy's European Sausage Bar in scenic Daylesford.
The sausages were awarded a gold medal for their fabulousness and there six different kinds to choose from including a vegetarian option. They all come served on a crusty long roll loaded with sauerkraut, caramelised onion and cheese.
Willy's serve hot Veneziano coffee along with other home made delights including: the Dutch pancake puffs known as Poffertjes, Monte Carlos and Speculaas (Dutch spiced biscuits). Cozy down in the 'Euro Zone' to keep out Jack Frost and enjoy the heat coming from the flickering faux fire.
I can already hear the skeptics muttering; "What?! You expect us to leave our comfy home nests and drive all the way to Daylesford for a simple sausage?" But people, these are not just any sausages... These are Willy'sgold medal winning, authentic European style sausages.
They will arrive before you hot and fresh and slathered in your favourite sauce.
