Naturally, this festival is all about almonds - those delightful morsels that grow sometimes very prolifically on trees! July will be the season for picking and therefore eating and baking with these delicacies, so here are a few events involving almonds plus much more.



[b]Willunga Almond Blossom Festival[/b]
This event will be held on 27th and 28th July 2019. It will be held at Willunga and hosted by the Willunga Almond Blossom Festival.

This year, it will mark the 50th year that this has been an event and the Fair Day Weekend is going to be filled with the following:

  • Camel rides
  • Pony rides
  • Animal nursery
  • Local chefs cooking with almonds
  • Market stalls



  • Food trucks
  • Wine
  • Beer
  • Almond cookery competition
  • Science shows
  • Almond cracking competition
  • Craft fun
  • Show rides
  • Climbing wall
  • Face painting
  • Carnival rides



  • There will be Saturday night fireworks starting at 7.00 pm and a Sunday morning street parade starting at 10.00 am.

    This will be a Family Fair Day with all weekend free family activities.

    This is a major tourism event which draws families from across the state to enjoy the region with blooming almond trees, Saturday Farmer's Market, plus historical buildings.

    The gates will open from 11.00 am to 9.00 pm

    [b]STREET PARADE**
    Sunday 28th July from 10.00 am.
    Each year the Willunga Almond Blossom Festival Street Parade starts at the top of High Street, Willunga. At these 50th year celebrations, they will be showcasing the many years of volunteering and charity work by the Almond Blossom Queens from 1970 to 1998. They will be including these people in the parade, so please give them a warm welcome.

    This is a free event and will feature local identities, live music, historical vehicles, dance troupes, local businesses, the local CFS truck and many more colourful characters.

    The theme for this year is 'Let's Go Retro…..' to commemorate 50 years.



    [b]FESTIVAL LUNCHES**
    On Monday 29th July you can attend a festival lunch, and you can find out more about these at this link.

    [b]ANNUAL BALL**
    Yes, there will be an annual ball again for this event! Dust off that gorgeous ball gown, dust off your suits and come join in for a night to remember at the 50th Almond Blossom Ball.

    This will be a special dinner dance celebration where you can enjoy delicious food by Chef Todd Steele. There will also be some great entertainment by local musicians.

    And what about those dancing shoes? Make sure you can dance in your shoes before you put them on because after the award presentations, the music will change and so you can dance the night away.

    This will be held on Saturday 3rd August 2019 in the Festival Hall – 5 Main Road, Willunga. Dinner will be served at 6.30pm, with music and dancing until late.

    [b]Almond Inspired Cookery Competition[/b]
    Entries for the Willunga Almond Blossom Festival Cooking Competition are officially open! Organisers have this year extended the competition so that there will be more sections including the official Festival Cake.

    They are looking forward to displaying your entries at their CWA rooms during the Festival. They will also welcome two very experienced CWA cooking judges. You can find more information and see the entry form at this website.
