Seating areas
I remember having visited Willow and Spoon when they were located in Alderley but this was my first visit to the Windsor shop. Willow and Spoon at Windsor has the advantage of being spoilt for space with 4 seating areas. The curbside dining area on entry has wooden tables and stools alongside a simple picket style fence. Black shade blinds guard off the wind and sun (and any roadside noise). Walking through the front door sees an intimate indoor seating area. Venturing outside, I find a small seating vignette with happy, yellow 70s inspired tub chairs with summery cushions and fake grass. The back of the shop has a surprisingly large, covered white Queensland deck and garden area. So many options to choose from.
Menu
Willow and Spoon specialise in breakfast and brunch with a menu serving up a range of innovatively named selections. Some of the noticeable morning favourites are "Samford Rd"- the house made individual banana and poppy seed loaf with apricot and acacia jam, "The Willow" - eggs, bacon, corn bread, Pepe Saya's handmade cultured butter and "Sleeping Beauty"- poached eggs, muffin, tarragon, mushroom duxelle, tomato, honey & garden pea sauce
Book swap and transport
A vintage suitcase filled with novels marks the cafés book swap program where guests can bring, leave and swap books.Willow and Spoon is located directly opposite the Wilston train station and buses stop just a few steps away. The shop is closed on Mondays and open from 7am-3pm on other days.
