Williamstown Literary Festival's ninth year began with prose and poetry. A wonderful prelude to the various events offered throughout the weekend for all literary enthusiasts.

One of the bigger names at the festival was Omar Musa. Omar, a slam poet, won the Australian Slam Poetry competition in 2008.

The audience were enthralled with his performance of 'Fireflies'. For some of the audience members, it was a learning experience to see how much poetry has progressed in the younger community.

Next year, the Williamstown Literary Festival will celebrate its tenth birthday and the committee promises us, a bigger, more spectacular festival, Bring on 2013!
