A not-for-profit registered charity,
Wildlife SEQ Inc was established in 2019 to provide rehabilitation and release services to the native wildlife within the South East Region of Queensland. Dedicated to the welfare of our native fauna and run solely by volunteers, the Wildlife SEQ team's mission is to ensure all native wildlife have the best opportunity to live a full and successful life out in the wild.
Wildlife SEQ Inc receive a range of species that require care, whether it be due to sickness, car impacts, loss of habitat or having been orphaned. The rehabilitation stage can be as short as one day or sadly, the rehab process can continue for many months, with volunteers never giving up.
Working closely with local communities, vets, wildlife hospitals and other wildlife organisations, all animals that arrive at Wildlife SEQ receive the highest level of treatment.
All volunteers must go through mandatory training to receive their wildlife rehabilitation permit. Carers within the organisation come from all walks of life and varying levels of experience - from having no experience through to years in the industry, each and every carer has heaps to offer.
While Wildlife SEQ's primary focus is caring for local native wildlife, educating the community also plays an important part. Through workshops, educational programs, presentations and talks, Wildlife SEQ's aim is to educate the community about the multiple issues that face native wildlife every day and to guide with valuable information on how the community can help. By raising public awareness through education, not only do communities learn some pretty awesome facts, but by participating in these educational workshops, workshop-ees will have the added perk of learning how to help our wildlife.

While all ages from junior to senior are welcome to join, the minimum age requirement for children to participate in wildlife caring is 16 years, with the addition of a parent or guardian, being the primary carer, attending all workshops and training too.
Children under 16 years of age who are interested in wildlife caring may find the Induction Workshop the perfect opportunity to learn how they can help. With regards the other Workshops, children under 16 may participate and attend, but as they are content heavy and not a 'show and tell' with live animals, it is up to parents to decide on the workshop suitability for their children.
When you become a member of Wildlife SEQ, you can either join to become a wildlife carer; a land for wildlife owner; or even just a financial member. Perhaps you're a whizz with fundraising and would love to assist at fundraising events or … you are really handy with a sewing machine and/or hammer and can assist with making boxes and pouches. By joining Wildlife SEQ, you are not only a member, but form part of a bigger community, with members who are passionate about native wildlife and the environment in which we live.
Please follow this highlighted link for more information on 'How to Join' and membership form details.
