As a member of Wildlife Preservation Society Queensland, I am sending this out to members and non-members alike as WPSQ is holding their AGM - but in parallel to this, they are also hosting a great lecture. So please consider going along to listen to the lecture but also getting involved in this lively and very crucial society which draws our attention to what is happening in the natural world here and afar and is constantly enlightening us on so many of its chosen topics.

Join WPSQ for lunch, followed by the (short - but essential!) 2023 AGM and then a talk by Emeritus Professor Marc Hockings on the 30 x 30 conservation initiative proposed 30 x 30 initiative and the progress to date.

The Initiative seeks to deliver the continued conservation of wildlife through the protection of 30 percent (%) of terrestrial land and water as well as 30 % of the coast and marine areas for every country on Earth, by 2030.

Included in his responsibilities while at the University of Queensland, Prof Hockings completed a review of the worldwide status of 'natural' World Heritage Areas for the United Nations."

Members and non-members are very welcome.

Date: SATURDAY 16th SEPTEMBER 2023
Place: THECA Hut, 47 Fleming Road, Chapel Hill
Lunch: 12.30 pm
AGM: 1.00 pm followed by a talk

Please RSVP here for AGM purposes, and catering.
AGM forms below. Please consider nominating for the committee!
Any questions or if you need the forms in another way, please contact [email protected]

WPSQ looks forward to seeing you there and to many more putting their hand up!
