The Australian Museum is hosting an exhibition of the world's best wildlife photography, with 100 amazing images on display. Anyone who has seen previous Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibitions will know what an astounding collection of powerful images it can contain. If you haven't ever been, this current exhibition has some truly magnificent photographs, and is not to be missed.

The competition is in its 48th year, and received entries from 98 countries, with categories covering under 11, 12 - 18, and adult. The skill in all levels is outstanding and the images are amazing.

Whether technically complex or creative, the end result is some of the most stunning images of animals or landscapes from around the globe.

Kids will love the animal pictures, just don't tell them it's art. For adults, the exhibition provides an amazing insight into the animal kingdom, and some very moving images of profound beauty.

Head to the Australian Museum between now and the 7th October to visit the exhibition, then take awhile to explore the rest of the museum (until August 25th the American Gothic exhibition is also on display, so turn the visit into a day of art and science).
