As Spring starts showing her pretty little nose, the Sunshine Coast's wildflowers are always keen to welcome this greatly-anticipated time of the year, by flaunting their absolute natural beauty across the Coast.

The Wildflower Festival offers free guided walks and activities over a two week period, commencing 21 August to 3 September 2016, enabling locals as well as visitors to the Sunshine Coast to appreciate all the natural wonders this area has to offer.

The program is really diverse and all activities are planned for the mornings, with one afternoon walk at Marcoola. There is absolutely something for everyone, here's just a sampler:-

  • Noosa National Park Headland section wildflower walk where the Noosa Integrated Catchment Association will introduce you to the wildflowers and different vegetation communities;

  • or perhaps you'd prefer to:-

  • join Coolum and North Shore Coast Care's family focused program for learning about wildflowers, weeds and even how to take photos. Children's games, creative activities and encouraging children to observe and take wildflower photos; or

  • Mooloolah River National Park Wildflower walk, which explores the wildflowers with QPWS rangers; bring your camera to learn some new techniques of taking a great photo or just enjoy the scenic walk.
