Wilde Kitchen is a Teneriffe café devoted to clean eating and gluten-free food. They specialise in ultra-healthy meals for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.
The café has a clean modern décor where you can sit inside or outside. All of the food is prepared with natural and unprocessed ingredients. It is also sourced from local suppliers and is based on a paleo philosophy. They cater for dairy free, gluten-free and vegetarians.
I ordered the grilled chicken with rice (a mix of brown and wild rice) with a dollop of fermented vegetables and mixed steamed greens. The dish was delicious and I felt virtuous eating fresh and healthy food.
My dining companion enjoyed his avocado on gluten-free toast with almond butter sauce, herbs and crispy chicken and coconut crumb.
The meals were delivered quickly, but when we ordered they were a little confused over which grilled chicken meal I wanted (there were two very similar ones on the menu).
The acai smoothie bowl is popular with Paleo Hero muesli, banana, coconut and raw honey. The all-day menu features sticky pork, burrito bowl and protein pancakes. You can also order the ultra-trendy healing broth (chicken, lemongrass and ginger or beef broth, with star anise and cinnamon) and health tonic shots.
The coffee beans are provided by Wolff Coffee Roaster, and you can try the popular Bulletproof Coffee (a long black with Upgraded MCT oil and grass fed butter).
Besides dining in at the café, you can also purchase prepared meals (order online if you wish) and catering. The shop stocks all of your favourite paleo supplies.
Wilde Kitchen is a great healthy option if you are in the Teneriffe neighbourhood.
