Wendy Bailye and Sharyn Hall are proudly presenting their 12th annual selling exhibition of exclusive handcrafted contemporary textiles in the air-conditioned Richard Randall Art Studio, Brisbane Botanical Gardens this November and December. Entry is FREE.

Sharyn Hall and Wendy Bailye are prolific artists who create exceptional quality, handmade and hand fashioned work that is guaranteed to have the 'wow' factor!

Both artists are well recognised in their respective fields as contemporary textile artists; Sharyn specialising in fabric surface design and mixed media, and Wendy as a textile artist and felt maker.

They have enjoyed long-standing international careers in the arts and are at an age when their best work is being showcased, after decades of experience, learning and teaching.

Much of their work is inspired by their travels and life experiences and they will both be present at the exhibition to talk about their artworks.

Imagine a thoroughly relaxing Christmas shopping experience in a heritage-listed building, surrounded by fabulous gardens. 'Wild Things' offers an exciting insight into the tactile world of textile art. But it is not just textiles though! Printmaking, collage, photography, and beautiful silver jewellery are just a few of the treasures on offer!

'Wild Things' combines a marvellous exhibition of quality contemporary textile art and an ever-popular, must-see pop-up shop of fabulous gift ideas. It is the best place to purchase a unique selection of handmade collectable arts, made with priceless individuality and an emphasis on natural materials.

Beautiful art with a contemporary twist, the exhibition and pop-up shop provides the opportunity to select from hand-printed, painted, felted & stitched wearables, accessories & homewares, wall art, handcrafted jewellery, cards and art journals and much more!

This is a fabulous place to get the most unique teachers gifts you will ever find! Arty, interesting, one of a kind gifts your children's teachers will adore. Teachers have had a tough year - get them something handmade and special.

Many people do their whole Christmas shop at the exhibition, thus avoiding the crazy Christmas rush. Both artists have had wonderful feedback from their guests year after year about the quality of work and the uniqueness of what they do. The displays are always beautiful and inspiring.

The studio de-stash area will also be stocked with textile treasures, art supplies, samples and seconds, sold at bargain prices with new items added daily. Crafty/arty visitors always seem to come out with armfuls of new materials to create with! Don't miss this highlight of the show!

This wonderful creative event is not to be missed! Come and enjoy the gardens and café as well as fabulous art.

It is a great feeling to buy handmade, sustainable goods from artists who have put their heart and soul into creating them. Buying handmade and local is such a treat as each piece has its own story in its making. If you can, come along and support local artists and help keep our local arts industry vital. COVID protocols will be in place.

The 'Wild Things' Exhibition and Pop Up Shop will be open to the public from Wednesday 18 November to Sunday 6 December, 9am to 4pm daily at the Richard Randall Art Studio, Brisbane Botanical Gardens, Mt Coot-tha. Entry is FREE and both artists will be present at the exhibition.
