Good to be here, especially with a drink with friends
Blink and you'll miss the entrance to this bar as there are no signs. As you near the front door, the friendly door staff usher you in through a rather large door and you enter what feels like an Irish Bar complete with jungle wall paper and a lampshade chandelier hanging over the bar; rather eclectic décor.
No signage but locals know this as the WIld Rover
The Wild Rover is the new bar from the guys that run Grandma's on Clarence Street in town. So you're in for a treat.
Do you remember the old train timetables where the next train was shown on the clock and the stations logged by the flip counter, well at Wild Rover they have kept this piece of history and converted it into the drinks menu. Such a great idea.
Food and drinks menu
With a selection of beers, ciders, cocktails, its a great place to meet with friends, huddle into a booth and enjoy the atmosphere. The also provide freshly shucked oysters and homemade sausage rolls, yum. It did rather remind me of the fun times I had in Ireland, I was just waiting for the Pogues to start playing.
