If we lived in a society governed by Wild Law, trees and other natural beings like plants, animals, rivers and ecosystems would be granted legal rights, just like anyone else. They would have access to legal representation and the ability to sue systems of government that didn't respect their rights.

The outcome of this would be an environmentally responsible and functional whole Earth Community that recognises human interconnectedness and dependence with the natural world. The focus would move away from economic growth, industrial development, and viewing the environment as a resource for humans to utilise. We would instead remember that humans and nature are a single community, with the awareness that both will perish unless we move together into the future with mutual respect.

The Wild Law Art Exhibition, entitled 'Re-Orientation: from Human Centred to Earth Centred', will feature work specifically created for the event by Griffith Uni's Queensland College of Art students and professional artists, including world renowned photographic artist Marian Drew. Artwork will include a range of media to explore and precipitate a shift in world view from human centred to earth centred.

The exhibition provides a creative backdrop for discussions as part of 2013 Australian Earth Laws Alliance (AELA) conference 'Living within our ecological limits: law and governance to nurture the Earth community' (http://www.earthlaws.org.au/wildlaw-conference-2013-brisbane/).

The exhibition's opening night event is on Thursday 26th September 2013, 6-8pm, at the Project Gallery, Queensland College of Art, Webb Centre Building (Building S02 on the Southbank campus map). The opening night is a free event and no bookings are required. There will be a bar open to purchase drinks and food, with profits going to AELA. The exhibition will be open from Tuesday 24th September to Saturday 5th October, 10am-6pm (Monday-Saturday).
