Wild Flight is a self-propelled ride through the aviary and above the Kangaroo Walk About enclosure of the zoo. There are no special skills required however I would not recommend it if you are afraid of heights.
The experience is available to children over the age of 7 and adults who weigh less than 120 kilograms. Children aged between 7 - 12 years must be accompanied by a paying adult.
You can book in online or upgrade your ticket at the Rooftop Cafe. After signing a waiver form for each participant you are ready to go. Depending on how busy the attraction is you may have wait for a short time as there are only 25 places available each hour.
Before you are strapped in to the harness there is a short safety briefing. For safety reasons no bags or loose items are allowed on to the course. Once you are harnessed in there is an 8 point safety check before you are allowed on to the course.
As you sit in the harness you pull yourself along the guide ropes. Don't worry about not having a camera as there is a photo opportunity included, either individually or as a group.

The 70 metre course runs above the trees in the aviary and offers participants a birds eye view of the zoo. As we went around the course we saw colourful lorikeets and budgerigars. Our ride was late in the afternoon and we were rewarded with views of Darling Harbour at sunset.
The course can be taken at a leisurely pace and we spent around 15 - 20 minutes up there enjoying the views. Overall it was a fun, unique and peaceful experience.
It is recommended that you book a place in advance to secure the time that you want. Wild Flight runs from 10am - 4.30pm until 5th October 2015. And from 10am to 6:30pm from 6th October 2015 to 19th April 2016.
