When visiting a country town, it is often great to be guided by someone with local knowledge. Wild Cat Tracks operates small boutique tours of up to 4 people in the Stanthorpe and Granite Belt region. Choose from several standard options or talk to Roxane to create a customised itinerary.

Some of set tours

For lovers of local food and produce, the Full Day Foodies Tour includes chocolate, cheese, berries and a Providoor store. Roxane will also help you to choose a great local restaurant for lunch, and then in the afternoon, there will be a local surprise. The latter of which I can't tell you about, because otherwise, it wouldn't be a surprise.

The Half Day Foodies Tour visits many of the same food outlets but returns you before lunch. Of course, you can discuss what will be included in your abridged tour.

One of the reasons to take such a tour is so that you can sample a number of the great regional wineries. The Full Day Winery Tour involves up to 4 cellar doors and, if you want, a brewery as well, lunch at a restaurant that Roxane will recommend for you based on your preferences, and a surprise in the afternoon, assuming you are still up for the surprise after sampling a lot of wines and beers during the day. There is also a Half Day Winery and Brewery Tour option.

Create your own tours

Talk to Roxane about what your interests and tastes are, and she can put together an itinerary of attractions in the area. There are historic locations to visit. This includes historic attractions in the heart of Stanthorpe or some of the historic development in the post WWI soldier settler era in locals around the area, such as Amiens, Messines, Fleurbaix, Poziers and Bapaume. You can even go to a bushranger's hideout.

There is art as well, including the murals and artworks within Stanthorpe, and you can visit local artists, pop into the regional Art Gallery, or go visit a glassmaker or a leadlight artist.

She can also take you to visit a range of natural attractions. This can include a whole day going out to Girraween National Park, or the lesser well known but still worth visiting rock feature known as Donnelly's Castle. She also knows the backroads to help you explore sheep country and the old goldfields. Even better, she knows where to find the best wildflowers in bloom.

Part of the tour includes choosing the right place to eat for morning tea and lunch. Talk to Roxane and she will recommend the perfect place for you.

Overall

Roxane is a character and is very much part of the experience of the tour. But any regional area has numerous little secrets and stories worth discovering, and these are more easily discovered on a tour. Then of course, if you are in a small group following a customised itinerary, you will be able to discover the things that are the most interesting to you.
