I recently took my daughter on a trip to Sydney, and was struck by how difficult it is to find many places or activities that we would both enjoy, that didn't cost an absolute fortune.

After much researching - and getting frustrated - I came across the Powerhouse Science Museum , which was just $15 entry for an adult, my daughter was free .. Woohoo. Plus it had a Wiggles exhibition that I hoped my daughter would love - $15 well spent.[BREAK]
Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect and knew that there would be some aspects of the museum that she wouldn't enjoy, however I find that at 14 months - pretty much anything large, flashing, colourful or moving interests her.

In the museum there is lots to see, but seems no real strict route so we just wondered around and left The Wiggles till last. If you are slightly on the camp and sequins side of life, like myself, then you will really enjoy the Strictly Ballroom costumes display. [BREAK]
To the important aspect of the The Wiggles Exhibition - my daughter loves the wiggles but I wasn't entirely sure how she would react. Luckily she absolutely loved it - she ate fruit salad with Anthony, shouted wake up at Jeff, had a tea party in Dorothy the Dinosaurs garden, captained a ship with Captain Feathersword, danced with Murray and sang in the Big Red Car.

Watching her go from section to section and point, dance and laugh along with the characters just made my day. There was so much to take in, and she was so excited and engaged.[BREAK]
The exhibition itself was great and well put together with each character having their own section where you can learn about their life, history and their Wiggle journey. Of course my daughter couldn't understand or read any of that, but I found it interesting, and everything was bright and colourful which entertainer her.

For interactive and fun stuff for her age there was plenty to do and things to play with - buttons to press, games to play, things to move, puzzles to solve, items to make and constant music and videos for her to sing and jiggle and wiggle along to.[BREAK]
The exhibition is mostly about the original four Wiggles but the new ones do make an appearance towards the end. The great thing is is that it's just an open room so so you can do a quick look around, or stay there for a couple of hours moving from section to section.

Upon leaving and telling my daughter to say bye bye to The Wiggles, she promptly sobbed and flopped to the floor in a dramatic fashion. Yes she loved it that much - she doesn't even do that when we leave the playground.[BREAK]
I would absolutely take her back again as I think it caters to all ages and levels of development. So whether a novice or a fully fledged Wiggle, both you and your children with get something unique out of it. Plus at just $15 adult entry for the whole museum it was certainly one of the less expensive places I found to visit in Sydney. [BREAK]
The Powerhouse Museum located at 500 Harris Street, Ultimo and is close to Darling Harbour, Chinatown, Central Station (Sydney Terminal), Broadway bus station (Railway Square), and Exhibition Centre Sydney Light Rail Station.
