7 Wicked Adult Halloween Parties – Sydney 2019

Halloween has become oh so popular in recent years in Sydney with not only children's events but also with 'adults only' events in some interesting venues. Here's a variety of what's on in Sydney this year that will have adults entertained, spooked and running for the door, depending on how easily you scare.

Minimum age is 18 for the below events, unless otherwise stated.

Madame Tussaud's 'MELT'

Ever wondered what lurks in this museum at night?

MELT is an immersive horror tour that will see you running into 'The Artist', a serial killer guaranteed to give you the chills as you sprint through the halls of wax figures trying to avoid becoming the next victim of this madman.

You will be given instructions and puzzles to solve along the way in order to outsmart 'The Artist' and make it out alive. Be prepared for jump scares, gory figures and making sacrifices in this self-guided after dark experience.

Grab your friends for this spooky adult-only tour with a twist that runs every 15minutes for 45minutes in length between 6pm and 10.30pm from 31 October to 2 November. Tickets start at $45 per person (for early birds).

Will you survive the hunt and live to tell the tale or get caught and haunt the shadows as the killer's half alive, half-melted trophy?

Should you make it out, keep the night going at HELM Bar & Bistro where you will receive a free drink with the handing over of your event wristband.

Halloween Singles Party

Australia's No.1 speed dating company Cityswoon.com.au and the New Hampton Hotel in Potts Point (9 Bayswater Rd) are presenting the singles party of the year on 26 October, from 7pm-10pm.

Sharpen the fangs and join up to 150 singles mingling and looking for that someone special. Tickets include a few matched dates to break the ice, a couple of drinks and an after-party with a DJ until late.

A make-up artist will be on hand, as well as a tarot card reader, and many more surprises on the night. Awesome prizes are up for grabs for the scariest and wackiest dressed and a photographer will be onsite to capture all the fun.

This event is for those 21-39yrs only, with tickets starting at $49. Grab them here now before they go up to $59 and $69 closer to the event.

Halloween Pub Crawl

It's Sydney's highest ranked pub crawl on Trip Advisor and Big Night Out (along with other hosts) are upping the ante this Halloween with an evening of fun that includes 4 venues, 4 free drinks and discounted drinks thereafter, free pizza, a photographer, games and prizes (cash prize for best dressed), and a free ticket to their Sunday Funday pub crawl.

For just $15 per adult, the mayhem begins at 7.30pm on 31 October at Side Bar (469 Kent St Sydney, meet at the pool table) and stops at The Vault, Scary Canary and Cargo. Venues are subject to change.

Haunted Hauses of Hedonism

Beerhaus, at their Barangaroo and York Street locations, are putting on one night (31 October) of creepy decorations with traditional Halloween games and bespoke cocktails, thanks to sponsor Kracken Rum.

Kicking off from 6pm, there's live music at the York Street location and then from 7pm the games begin at both sites. Try your hand at apple bobbing and trick or treat games. Be sure to dress up for the occasion as there's a chance of winning an epic prize from the night's sponsor for best dressed, with the awarding ceremony taking place at 8pm.

An after party will continue the celebrations from 8.30pm.

Entry is free but it is best to book to secure a spot. Enjoy food available to purchase as per usual at this American-inspired, social emporium. The special of the night is the rum punch, with glasses for $5 each, featuring a mix of spiced rum, Campari, agave, lime and pineapple juice.

Halloween Fiesta and Day of the Dead Party

Go Mexican this Halloween at El Camino Cantina when they turn up the heat on 31 October, across all of their Sydney venues - Manly, The Rocks, Moore Park and Miranda.

A delicious 3-course Tex-Mex feast package of their best selling favourites for $79 per person includes buffalo wings with blue cheese mayo and mango chilli sauce; loaded nachos with chilli con carne, black beans, smoked BBQ brisket, sour cream and guacamole; char-grilled chicken fajitas with seasonal vegetables; and churros with chocolate and caramel sauce; plus 2hrs of margaritas, wine and beer with complimentary spooky lollies for those that book ahead.

Following your feast, it's time to walk the walk and embody your Halloween character in the best dressed competition. A $50 restaurant voucher will go to each of best male and best female.

The fun includes a whacking of the giant Halloween piñata (from 8pm) filled with chocolates, tricks and treats, and awesome music to dance the night away.

Book in advance and get a free trick or treat bag on arrival.

On 2 November, the venues will switch to celebrating Mexico's annual holiday that honours the spirits of the dead. The same feast and beverage package, as for Halloween above, will be on offer.

Afterwards, visit the skilled Day of the Dead face painter to morph into a sugar skull or skeleton and, if you're still hungry come 8pm, then enter the chilli eating competition. Finish 5 different types of chilli to be in the running for a $50 venue voucher.

Party playlists and many more surprises await.

You can book a table for this event using the same link above.

In Dreams: A Blue Velvet Halloween

Four Pillars Gin are coming to Surry Hills and the Golden Age Cinema for a night to remember this Halloween.

The intimate party will see the Golden Age Bar transformed into a Lynchian nightclub serving Bloody Shiraz Gin & Tonics and a specially-themed cocktail, amongst other beverages.

Live music performances will be a highlight as will the chilling restoration of David Lynch's iconic movie Blue Velvet.

If you're old enough, you may remember this haunting classic from 1986. It involved a college student returning home after his father has a stroke. Upon finding a severed ear in an abandoned field, he teams up with the detective's daughter to solve the mystery and, in the process, gets drawn into the twisted dark world of a beautiful lounge singer, where he encounters a sexually deprived psychopath.

There will be two screenings of the new movie on 31 October – 6.10pm and 8.40pm. Book your seats here . General admission is $25 per adult, with snacks and drinks extra.

Fright Night at The Grounds

The normally gorgeous and bright Grounds of Alexandria have turned dark to celebrate not only Halloween but the release of new Disney movie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

Their latest laneway installation lends itself perfectly to Halloween and the 'adults only' Fright Night, where partygoers can trick or treat for cocktails, snack on devilish food offerings and dance until late in the forest of doom.

Entry is $25 per adult and 1 November (from 7pm) is the date for your diary.
