I have a few reasons why you should cook your own food at home.

Personally, I hardly ever like the dining seats, the music, the noise, etc.

At home, I can have my own kitchen table with my loved ones.

What else is there?

  • Portion Control

  • You can eat in moderation. You can watch your calorie, sugar and carb intake easier than when dining in a restaurant!

No enticing fancy drinks to want. Just drink some water at home!

  • Affordable

  • Whether you are at a fancy sit down restaurant or a fast food drive-thru, you are going to fork out some cash.

When dining at home, you can buy your own groceries, especially on sale, on clearance, with coupons, etc.

  • You Know What Is In Your Food

  • Do you honestly know what is in your food?

For example, I like tuna. I like tuna salad, Acapulco Tuna Salad (from the cookbook by JoAnna M. Lund called Party Fare), tuna sandwiches, etc. Well, I happened to find out that tuna has mercury inside of it and that we are advised to only consume tuna twice a week so as not to get mercury poisoning.

Finally, why not get out those cookbooks collecting dust and prepare a new recipe once a week? Personally, I frequently write cookbook reviews on WeekendNotes. Maybe you could read about some new recipes and then take a copy of the cookbook out of your local library.

    Voila!
