Nourishing Whole Foods
Happy fruit

The name of this Grange business gives a fair indication of what it is all about. Wholesomeness has a food philosophy which focusses on serving nourishing, whole foods prepared without a preservative in sight. All ingredients are organic, where possible and always seasonal, all meals are 100% gluten and dairy-free., meats are grass-fed and hormone-free and the fish and seafood is sustainable. In their own words, Wholesomeness says, "We firmly believe that food is medicine and that eating delicious whole nourishing organic foods will lead to a healthier you."

Wholesomeness is located in The Grange, an inner-northern suburb of Brisbane, just 5 kilometres (3 mi) north of the central business district, on the southern side of Kedron Brook.

Nourishing Food

There are 3 elements to the Wholesomeness experience:

1. The Health Food Café
The Wholesomeness Health Food Café in located in a small shopping precinct in Days Road. Walking up the short flight of stairs I immediately notice the giant hand-painted mural on the side concrete wall of some very vibrant and animated fruit and vegetables courtesy of the crew at www.squidtank.com.

All of the seating is outdoor with 2 long dining tables shaded by the shop's awning and 2 tables to catch the sun. The service was friendly and accommodating with a team member offering to help me get settled after she saw me struggling with a hand full of bags and an excited pup.

The café is counter service and offers a selection of healthy grill bar, all day brekky, salads, raw and sweet vegan treats (like protein balls and lemon and blueberry slice), coffee, acai, smoothies ($6-$8), and cold-pressed juices (energy, detox, and vitality) and smoothie bowls ($14).

You can also choose your own dragon bowl ($18) and make your own breakfast. So many choices. To top off the healthy eating experience, ice-cream lovers can enjoy the guilt free obsession of CocoWhip- the world's first vegan and bio-fermented coconut soft serve which is completely free of dairy, soy, gluten and is 100% vegan-friendly.https://cocowhip.com.au/

You can choose from a meal plan (with 10 meals for $95.95) or individual meals with options like Cashew Beef Stirfry, and Carribean grilled jerk chicken, pumpkin and greens (both $9.95).

3. Online Health Food Shop
While the Wholesomeness Online shop makes it easy to purchase healthy and delicious meals and meal deals, you can also buy groceries and pantry items, natural skin care, aromatherapy, organic essential oils, herbal hair care and superfoods.

With so much to choose from, I left feeling that little bit healthier and keen to explore more.
