A lot of thought and planning goes into making a healthy meal: what ingredients to use, cooking method, and what benefits they'll bring. It's not always possible to cook up a meal that's quick and healthy when there are a million things requiring your attention.
Discover the secrets to healthy eating with the Wholefoods for Heart Health cooking class, hosted by Preventative Heart Health Consultant Angela Jackson.
Angela is an Exercise Scientist, Herbalist, and Health Coach, who believes wholefoods are the key to heart health. She founded the organisation, Natural Heart Health, with the aim of reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease in women by teaching them how to improve their lifestyles. Her five-step approach combines lifestyle practices, herbal medicine, and stress management techniques that naturally improve risk factors.
This class will focus on several recipes for dinners that not only taste great, but are easy to make and good for your heart. You'll learn about various ingredients, their nutritional properties, and creative ways to incorporate them into your cooking, so you won't be stuck with the same three meals over and over again.
You'll be able to sample the food made on the day, and receive a copy of each recipe to take home with you after the class.
Classes run every second month, beginning on 9 February 2015, at a cost of $50 per person. They'll be held at Wandering Cooks in South Brisbane, from 6.30pm to 8pm AEST.
