When you want a quick healthy meal
Whole Meal Café in Darlinghurst has an awesome story behind it. Owner Anna Hopkins had a vision when she was just 14 that she wanted "to have a healthy fast food restaurant just like McDonalds but healthier."

Fast forward fifteen years later and Anna has made that vision into a reality. Whole Meal Café offers quick healthy food options. Much of the food they offer is locally sourced, the eggs are free range and there is an enormous number of gluten free options on the menu including almond meal pancakes and muesli. Where else can you go and get gluten free pancakes and muesli? That's like music to my ears, being gluten free and never being able to order pancakes.

Walking in to the cute little cafe, I was quickly greeted by the friendly staff. There was a mouthwatering case of goodies, both savoury and sweet, and of course many gluten free options such as date and honey loaf, choc walnut brownies and raspberry friands. The smoothie and juice list was divine, I settled on the 'Relax' juice, a delightful blend of pear, apple and carrot with a hint of ginger.

The menu is focused on breakfast, wraps and salad. You can have breakfast until 2pm and the 'Light and Tasty Breakfast' is offered all day.

I decided to try the almond flour ricotta berry pancakes. Wow, were they fantastic, the perfect mixture of almond flour pancakes and berries. The food came out quickly as well, true to the owner's vision of healthy food fast.
