Whodunit? Exhibition at Scitech

West Perth's beloved science museum Scitech is now the scene of a terrible crime, and they need the kids of Perth to help solve the mystery.

The crime scene is a zoo. A security guard has been fatally shot and lies on the zoo floor. A prized white rhino has been stolen. Do you have what it takes to solve this mystery?

From now until Sunday, 8th October, the Whodunit? exhibition at Scitech will take visitors on a fascinating process of crime fighting using a combination of technology and forensic science.

Visitors to the exhibition will use real methods of forensic science, including finger-printing, footprints, DNA and chromatography – a method of separating chemical mixtures – along with an autopsy, to find the killer and return the rhino to the zoo.

Each visitor will be given a crime file to keep track your progress as you slot together the pieces of the puzzle. There's even an opportunity to see how poo – yes, poo – can be a key to solving crime.

Whodunit? is aimed at kids aged eight and over – let's face it through, parents are sure to have a blast helping to solve the mystery too. Parental guidance is recommended as there are facets of the exhibition that some children may find confronting, such as a simulated corpse with a gunshot wound and the autopsy area.

The exhibition is free with Scitech admission. It's the perfect school holiday activity sure to thrill the little detectives in your family. If the kids simply can't get enough of the forensics, there's also Crime Scene Investigation activities to do at home, which you can find herehttp://whodunit.scitech.org.au
