Go green at Whiteman Park for EnviroFEST 2012 - a family environmental festival exploring conservation in action on Sunday 6th May.

Whiteman Park is a unique recreation and conservation reserve that covers nearly 4,000 hectares of natural bush land and leisure facilities in Perth's northern suburbs.

Being open year round and free of entry the park makes a great outing on any weekend. A selection of attractions is the Caversham Wildlife Park, the Children´s forest, a tractor museum and various village shops. For more information on the attractions see the Whiteman Parks attractions page.

This special Sunday however the EnviroFEST is on, showcasing a range of environmental concepts, issues and products.

Promised activities include workshops and presentations, native fauna displays, organic products, native seedlings for sale and a huge range of sustainable living products. You´ll also get the chance to find out how you can get involved in conservation projects near you.

The Great Gardens team will be attending, with tips and hints for how to create a Riverwise and Waterwise garden.

Of course there will also be loads of activities for the kids, including free facepainting, storytelling, Children's Forest treasure hunt with Fairy Sandie, craft activities and much more.

How to get there
Whiteman Park is located 18 kilometres north-east of Perth, just a short 25-minute drive from the Perth CBD. There is also one bus service (number 955) to the park departing from the Morley Bus Deport via Bassendean Station.
