Located next to Krispy Kreme on Port Wakefield Road in Bolivar, Whitehorse Inn Bistro is a good place to enjoy a good range of pub food and Australian style dishes. Each main meal gives you access to the restaurant's salad and dessert bar. The salad bar offers both salad and soup to help sate your hunger, and the dessert bar has a wide selection of desserts and fresh fruit to complete your meal.

Great for those that like seafood, their Classic Seafood Selection consisted of battered flathead, Prawn Cones, Salt and Pepper Squid and Potato Spun Prawns served alongside chips. Our favourite was the Prawn Cones which had a lovely minced prawn filling encased in a crisp cone of pastry. The potato coating of the Potato Spun Prawns gave it a different texture from the Prawn Cones and the Salt and Pepper Squid had the right amount of seasoning. Served with the dish were a lemon wedge to add a bit of tang to the seafood and tartare sauce to dip them to complete the experience.

The Chicken Schnitzel had a crisp coating which contrasted well with the succulent flesh. Accompanying the schnitzel were chips which were crisp with fluffy interiors and salted just right. For the sauce, I chose the pepper sauce which had the degree of peppery flavour to make eating it enjoyable.

Out of the Rump and Porterhouse Steaks we tried, we found the Rump Steak to be juicer. Both steaks had a lovely char-grilled flavour. Aside from pepper sauce, we also tried their Diane sauce and mushroom sauce. The mushroom sauce had enough mushrooms to give it a delectable savoury flavour and the Diane sauce did not taste too creamy.

Whitehorse Inn Bistro currently offers two deals to make eating there affordable - $9.90 Steak on Wednesdays and $10 Schnitzels on Thursdays. Seniors also get a 25% discount off their meal if they present their seniors card when they dine there. Whitehorse Inn Bistro is also in the Entertainment Book with an offer of 25% off your total bill. Parking is of little issue with the carpark at the back of the inn offering plenty of off-street parking.
