Experience the thrill of sword fighting as a sport

Do you love strategy, camaraderie and competition? If you are looking for an exciting sports activity, come and experience the thrill of the Olympic sport of fencing with the Whitehorse Chevaliers Fencing Club!

Enrolment is now open for a range of NEW classes for kids, teens and adults. Book now to avoid disappointment.

The Whitehorse Chevaliers invite all to learn and participate in the sport of fencing, whether it is for fun, to improve fitness or serious competition. All classes are held in a friendly and supportive learning environment and beginners are always welcome.

Classes commence in July 2021 in two convenient locations - Nunawading and Mitcham.


Look forward to:

  • Friday After-School Fencing: If your child (aged 7 to 11) would like to try out fencing, come and join this weekly Friday night class. Held from 5 pm to 6:30 pm over 10 weeks, this is an opportunity for little ones to experience the thrill of sword fighting as a sport.

    Equipment is provided. Held from Friday 16 July to Friday 17 September at Nunawading Community Hub. Price: $120 (less than $16 per 90 minute session)

  • Fencing Beginner Course: If you are new to fencing, have only limited experience, or returning after a long absence, then a beginner class is the best place to start.

    This class is aimed at teens and adults and runs for 6 weeks. It can also be completed by parents and children together, with a class for ages 7-12 running in the same timeslot.

    Each class includes 90 minutes with a coach, and the opportunity for practice on the piste. Equipment is provided and cleaned after each class.

    Held from 9:00 am to 10.30 am, Saturday mornings from 17 July to 21 August at Nunawading Community Hub. Price: $90 ($15 per 90 minute session) or $180 for 1 adult and 1 child under 12 years.

  • This Girl Can Fence! - Beginners Class

    This beginners fencing class is aimed at women aged 12 years or older and offers a relaxed introduction to the sport. This is a women-only class taught by female coaches. All required equipment is provided.

    Held from 7 pm to 8:30 pm, Monday nights from 2 August to 6 September at St John's Primary School in Mitcham. Price: $90
