White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate

I am always on the look out for walks that are at a comfortable distance from Brisbane. The White Rock Walk within Spring Mountain Conservation Estate is approximately 30 kms south west of Brisbane and this makes a pleasant day out for the weekend.

The walk is easy and on fairly flat ground. There is no defined path up to the summit of the rock , though you can scramble up from the northern side. People do climb up but it is good to bear in mind that this is considered a sacred Aboriginal site and as is often the case when you come across these sites, you may find a notice alerting you to the fact and also asking you to refrain from climbing. This is very much down to the individual and to how you feel about these matters.

The view from the top is quite rewarding and on a clear day the horizon is your only limit.





There are other trails as well within the Conservation Park and you can choose any one of them depending on your time or your energy levels.
